From 2004 to 2008, Cecil Solomon compiled all of the symbols and fill styles that Dundjinni users who were willing to share them had posted on the Dundjinni forum into the CSUAC. After Cecil stopped supporting the CSUAC in 2008, Dundjinni users Kepli, Sendorian and Daniel Pryor continued collecting these works in the Dundjinni Archives, a less formal but still formidable collection, and much larger than the CSUAC.
We've closed beta testing and have released Volume 1 of the Dundjinni Archives for FM8. The release version includes another 20+ MB of mapping objects that were mistakenly included in the fantasy city and dungeon archives. These were not included in the open beta version.
As discussed, the Vintyri Project has been granted the right to make and release Fractal Mapper (TM) 8 and CC3+ versions of the Dundjinni archives. As always with Vintyri products, this release is free and available for personal and commercial use. The first of three archive releases for CC3+ now is available.
The Dundjinni Archives for CC3+ will be released in three separate downloads:
Volume 1 – Overland Symbols and Covers. For the first time, it makes the user collection of Dundjinni ISO symbols and covers available fully converted for CC3+. Unlike almost all other Dundjinni objects, those in this collection are primarily useful for CC3+ overland maps. The content blends in well with ProFantasy's own overland symbols but in most cases less satisfactorily with the Mike Schley and Herwin Wielink styles. However, a Line Art catalog is included that might work satisfactorily with the Schley style.
Volume 2 – Fantasy Symbols and Fill Styles. This will be the last release in this series. It includes more than 2 GB of mapping objects. There is no release date target at this time.
Volume 3 – Modern and Science Fiction Symbols and Fill Styles. This will be the next release in this series. It includes some 200 MB of mapping objects. We're giving Volume 3 priority because of the relatively small number of symbols available to Modern and SciFi map makers. The release target is for late September.

With the CC3+ versions, there were two problems:
1) There was a typo in the configuration file that caused the dungeon toolbar to build only partially, if the user had a certain configuration. That was my error. Neither I nor my alpha people had the configuration that triggered it, so it got by us.
2) The manufacturer of our installer claims to be working on an update, but for the time being, the old and new Uninstall routines can be incompatible. For that reason, the two uninstall files must be erased, as explained above. If they are there - again depending upon individual configurations - the user can be led into a deadly endless installation loop, where the update install demands that one uninstall the entire art pack and then installs only the update. The main part of the program vanishes. Erasing the uninstall files eliminates this problem.Also, does the FM8 version have any similar problem with the setup?
No. There is no FM8 update, due to some important changes throughout. The whole installation must be repeated, so the old version will be uninstalled.
